Project Perspectives

How many projects in your organization
have come in on time and on budget?

For Most Senior Managers the Answer is None!

It is estimated that $2.3 trillion is spent on projects

  •  in the US each year, an amount equivalent to

  •  one-quarter of the nation’s GDP.

Evidence suggests that in the US alone, a staggering

  • -40% of information technology investments fail to deliver their intended return each and every year ...and

  • -80% of IT projects are conceived of and funded in a fragmented way. 1

That's $1 trillion misspent over 5 years in the US alone!

Project Management Perspectives - a PowerPoint slide show

Project methodologies are as detailed and as varied as there are preflight checklist's for airplanes. These checklist's are important; however, they do not insure a successful mission.

Different project types often will require different approaches and methodologies.

As Peter Drucker stated; "Management is not an art nor is it a science; that is why it is called the Practice of Management".

Nearly all projects that are implementing new or different capabilities will fail; unless specific factors are addressed.
